Leaves are falling, PD is calling
Can you believe? The fall is here once again – which means kids are going back to school, work projects set aside in June are being picked up again, and all those incredible professional development opportunities to advance your career are kicking into high gear. Who is ready for a PSL and some PD?
Our IABC Saskatoon board members and volunteers have been putting together our fall plans… so here’s what you need to know, and where you’ll need to be to take full advantage of your connection with IABC:
Fall Kick Off – September 27, 2018
This is a member exclusive event. Come enjoy some great networking games, a glass of wine, and learn about all the things IABC international and our local chapter have to offer. Join us as we kick off an incredible season with IABC Saskatoon!
IABC CommuniCon – October 25, 2018
We’ve been talking about it for over a year now, and it’s finally here: IABC CommuniCon. This is IABC Saskatoon’s flagship conference, and you (yes you), are invited! This isn’t your average ‘how to use Twitter’ conference; rather, it’ll focus on the core aspects of who we are as business communicators and help us elevate our careers by providing the insights and tools necessary to serve as strategic relationship builders in the organizations we serve. So take the chance to converge, connect, communicate, and create with us at IABC CommuniCon. Buy tickets now at iabccommunicon.com.
Kellie Garrett – November 20, 2018
Have you heard of Kellie Garrett? If not – hear her at our PD event planned for this November. Kellie is a dynamic speaker who offers leadership consulting to help strengthen employee engagement and create an inspiring internal culture in organizations. As a board, we heard her speak at Dare to Lead this year and she blew our minds. So with that in mind, I am very excited to have her here in Saskatoon – brought to you by IABC Canada West Region. We’ll have more details on this PD event later this fall.
So buckle up – it’s going to be a fabulous ride. I am so grateful for all our wonderful board members and volunteers who have committed themselves to IABC Saskatoon’s vision of professional communicators at the heart of every organization. If you want to learn new skills, help out the chapter, or meet some amazing people (or a combo of all three), please consider volunteering! We may have a role for you.
Cheers! And hopefully our paths will cross very soon.
Ben Borne, President
